Entertainment Cruises 2010 Photo Shoot – From a model’s point of view (an EC model, that is!)
Last week in Chicago, we shot our 2010 commercials and took new photos to use in our ads for this upcoming year. Some of the EC employees were lucky enough to take an active role in the exciting shoot. Here is one of their stories. Enjoy!

As our corporate marketing department geared up to gather some new material for our website, print, and other media outlets, they asked for any volunteers who might be interested in helping out with the photo shoots. I was happy to offer my time to help out in any way that might benefit the company. As a group sales representative, I understand how important the information in our marketing materials is, especially on our website, where prospective guests go to envision what their experience will be. I was eager to witness all of the hard work that goes into this type of project.

When I arrived at the Odyssey I was met by an entire production crew – directors, large cameras, professional lighting, actors, extras, etc. I had completely underestimated how many different pieces went in to completing this puzzle. I watched as the camera focused on the food and the enjoyment the actors expressed as they tasted the delicious meal. The actors portrayed different events that many of our guests are seeking to celebrate with us – birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and more. After a while, I was asked if I wanted to play a bartender while they filmed the actors letting loose after dinner and enjoying the atmosphere. The actors were all very friendly, and it was so exciting to be a part of the action!

I expected much of the same when I arrived on Thursday – mostly observing with the occasional opportunity to appear in the background of a shoot. Imagine my surprise when I arrived and they asked me to be a primary actor for the Spirit Cruises shoot! I got to be front and center with the other actors on the outer observation deck portraying what a fun time is to be had on Spirit Cruises. After we escaped the strong winds (it is Chicago after all), we headed indoors to again, show the different special events we cater to on our vessels. In addition, we also filmed a group shot of all the actors and extras doing the “Cupid Shuffle” and wrapped up the evening by ringing in the New Year!

I am so glad that I was able to be part of such an important aspect of what will be just the first step towards creating unforgettable memories for all of our guests in 2010 and beyond.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us Katie!
